About the role
As Senior System Administrator & Infrastructure, you will act as the primary technical custodian for core server health, virtualization, backup reliability, and enterprise data security. You will balance complex systems engineering—such as managing Windows/Linux servers, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, SAN/NAS storage, Active Directory, and Veeam Disaster Recovery—with PowerShell automation, patch management, vendor coordination, and providing Level 3 technical guidance to junior IT teams.
What you will do
- Server & Directory Administration: Administer Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux environments. Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI/Certificate Authority, and file/print services.
- Virtualization & Cloud Integration: Deploy and manage VMware vSphere and Hyper-V virtual environments. Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Azure AD, and hybrid cloud setups.
- Backup, Storage & Disaster Recovery: Manage Veeam Backup & Replication, business continuity plans, and SAN/NAS storage arrays for optimal performance, data integrity, and capacity planning.
- Systems Security & Server Hardening: Implement endpoint security (EDR/XDR), server hardening, security patching, firmware updates, and access controls in alignment with cybersecurity best practices.
- Data Center & Asset Operations: Oversee data center equipment, racks, UPS units, hardware lifecycles, and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, DR plans, and asset logs.
- Automation & Level 3 Support: Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate routine tasks, perform root cause analysis (RCA) on complex issues, coordinate vendor warranties, and mentor junior system administrators.
What we are looking for
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 to 8+ years of hands-on experience in system administration and enterprise IT infrastructure management.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Windows/Linux OS, Active Directory, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, SAN/NAS storage, and Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Automation & Cloud Skills: Solid knowledge of PowerShell scripting, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Core Skills: Strong analytical thinking, incident handling, documentation, server hardening, and technical communication capabilities.
Nice to have
- Active certifications such as VMware VCP-DCV, Veeam VMCE, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Windows Server, CompTIA Server+, or ITIL Foundation.
- Experience managing high-availability server and storage systems in logistics, 3PL, or multi-site warehousing operations.
- Hands-on exposure to PKI management and zero-trust infrastructure architecture.
