About the role
As Manager Plant & Maintenance, you will serve as the primary operational leader responsible for keeping our physical plant, machinery, and facility infrastructure running smoothly and safely. You will combine high-level technical expertise—such as diagnosing complex electro-mechanical faults and monitoring SCADA systems—with team management, shift delegation, maintenance budgeting, supplier procurement approvals, and rigorous QSHE safety compliance.
What you will do
- Maintenance Strategy & Leadership: Lead reactive and proactive multi-skilled maintenance teams, establishing standard operating procedures, technical best practices, and daily/weekly inspection schedules.
- Shift Delegation & Fabrication Oversight: Schedule and supervise all maintenance, fabrication, and repair activities, delegating shift tasks and minor engineering projects according to team skill sets.
- Plant & Equipment Reliability: Ensure designated buildings, equipment, and utility plants are fit for purpose, leveraging SCADA platforms and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults rapidly under pressure.
- Team Management & Development: Manage department staffing levels, roster schedules, performance evaluations, and technical training to guide and upskill staff.
- Budgeting & Procurement Approval: Hold direct accountability for maintenance budgets, assess equipment performance trends, and evaluate/approve all maintenance-related procurement requests.
- QSHE & Workplace Safety Integrity: Maintain a safe system of work, integrate facility/product quality, report hazardous conditions immediately, and ensure full adherence to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QSHE) standards.
What we are looking for
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of relevant experience leading plant operations and facility maintenance teams within industrial, manufacturing, or warehousing environments.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with equipment/machinery maintenance, SCADA monitoring systems, and electro-mechanical diagnostic tools.
- Core Competencies: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, strong delegation, budget management, staff training/mentorship, and quick problem-solving.
Nice to have
- Experience managing maintenance for automated material handling systems (MHE), cold storage units, or large-scale 3PL distribution hubs.
- Professional certifications in Predictive Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, or HSE.
